Deaf Wine Professionals Gathering
December 2022
Uncorked Access hosted first virtual gathering of Deaf Wine professionals! We talk a lot about the potential for Deaf employment and leadership in the wine industry, but it’s important to note that it’s already here…
Brilliant Deaf minds are already in this industry, lending their skills, perspectives, knowledge, support. All have experienced the “only Deaf in the room” journey. They are David Uzzell, formerly of Mozzeria, Michelle Morris of DCanter Wine Boutique, Michael Hellman of Vino Polish, Tara Beltrami of Casa Larga Vineyards, and Anne Kearney Logan, Phd in Viticulture & Enology at Cornell University.
We know that our network of d/Deaf wine and hospitality professionals is going to grow by leaps and bounds in 2023, and we can’t wait to do more of this!

2021 Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 Tastemaker
August 2021
Laura was selected as a 2021 Wine Enthusiast 40 under 40 Tastemaker.
"She has since brought her passions together via Uncorked Access, a start-up she cofounded with Deaf ASL poet Peter Cook that offers resources to support Deaf beverage professionals and wine lovers. Meanwhile, she’s also propelled a career in wine academics as an educator for Vin Social, a virtual hospitality platform and quarterly wine subscription that partners with sustainability-driven wine producers to provide tastings and education for businesses and other groups."
